Many of the most tragic stories can be found in the glamor of a career. Lolo Jones, who won both the USA championships and World Champion in hurdles is able to reach her present place with much effort as well as a lot of perseverance. Jones was raised with the most difficult of lives being the daughter of a single mother with five children. She lived with her mom in the basement of a church, and was constantly in motion. This nomadic life led Jones to switch to an entirely new school each year, until she began in high school. Jones was separated from her family during Theodore Roosevelt to pursue track and field events. Jones lived with four different families to ensure that she was studying at a high level. Jones was part of both the Iowa School Orchestra as well as the Gatorade Track and Field Award. She also won this award in her school.
